Description

Solid walnut, cut into a single standing block and finished by hand – a home for the blades you plan to keep for decades.

Powerful magnets run the full face of the stand, holding everything from a slim petty to a full 8-inch gyuto flat, secure, and edge-up. No slotted block to trap moisture or dull the edge, no bar screwed to the wall – just clean lines and your knives on display where they belong.

The grain is sealed food-safe so it wears in, not out, and the low steel base keeps it steady on any counter. Built to sit alongside the knives it was made for.

Free shipping on all US orders.

Warranty and Returns

Every MATSUHIRA knife is covered against manufacturing defects in the steel, the edge and the handle.

If an item arrives faulty or damaged, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will arrange a replacement. You can also request a return within 30 days of delivery under our refund policy.

Care & Maintenance

Hand wash, never the dishwasher. Wash the blade by hand with warm water and a little soap, then dry it straight away with a soft cloth. The dishwasher dulls the edge and damages the handle.

Cut on wood or plastic. Use a wooden or plastic board. Glass, stone, granite, and ceramic will chip a fine edge.

Hone often, sharpen rarely. A few passes on a honing rod every week or two keeps the edge true. When it finally needs sharpening, any standard whetstone suited to Japanese-style knives restores it.

Store it safely. Keep the knife on a magnetic strip, in a saya, or in a block, not loose in a drawer where the edge can knock against other tools.

Keep it dry. Never leave the knife to soak or sit wet in the sink. A drop of food-safe oil before long storage protects both the steel and the Damascus pattern.
